Something interesting I noticed in the site plan is that they have two outdoor alligator exhibits, Alligator Swamp and Arroyo Lagarto (meaning Alligator Creek). I wonder if one will have Chinese and the other American, or if both will have American.
It would be a shame not to exhibit both, even though one Chinese Alligator was just recently sent off to an Alligator park in Florida. Do you know what ever happened to their False Gavials Mario?

The Gavials seemed to have disappeared off the zoo's charts and plans. And I've heard nothing about their Ploughshare Tortoises lately either. Even before they tore down the old reptile house they were taken off exhibit. I know quite a few species were sent away temporarily, but nothing on these once planned centerpiece reptiles for several years. And I sure would like to see the Crocodile Monitor, Grays Monitors, and Exuma Island Iguanas returned after the center is completed as well.

Yeah, I remember reading that the Ploughshare Tortoises were going to be one of the many rare species that were confiscated a while ago to be on display. The tortoises don't even appear on ISIS anymore.
And they supposedly plan to exhibit caimans in Rainforest of the Americas. Of course, the center originally planned to showcase the False Gavials and Komodo Dragons as wells as American Alligators. I don't see them now moving the Komodos to another space, from that where they are now in the Australia section, anytime soon. And the False Gavials may now be non-existent; permanently transferred to another institution or deceased.
