Elephants of China - Pachyderm Forest

The Chinese Water Deer were in their shelter. They are on exhibit though.
I bet the signs will be added right before the exhibit officially opens.

I also love the trash and recycle bins in this area, as well as the new benches!

Yeah, I didn't expect anything until right before the opening. I just wish I'd stuck around to see Billy. According to the volunteer, he was being carrot trained by keepers, and on the far side of his yard. He was probably having a good munch on those carrots. I can't wait to see what females join him.

The zoo has added two signs, one with Chinese Water Deer info and the other one with Sarus Crane info. I'll be uploading photos shortly.

EDIT: I've uploaded photos of the signs, Sarus Crane, and construction progress.

Great! I'll be hanging out at the zoo today(Father's Day)with my youngest son Jeremy. He wants a few pointers on photography. I'll be looking for the additions to Elephants of China, and hopefully a Water Deer sighting.
