Yeah, the zoo stopped when the construction of the gorilla exhibit started to minimize stress on the GLTs. I believe there was plans to continue once the construction around the area was complete, but with a carousel now being built there I doubt that area will ever be used for free range again.

It's possible they could go back to a free range study in the older flight cage. That's where they were allowed free range, with a couple of docents observing them, before they were placed in the theme area.
