Beginning on May 5th Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle will exhibit Visayan warty pigs, which will mean that there will be about a dozen American zoos with the species. I can remember a time when this species was unheard of, but the bad news is that while warty pigs have become more common by contrast bearded pigs have been phased out of American zoos.
