Also, I wonder where that small trail on the left leads to?

I believe it leads to no ADA lawsuits my friend.

No, though I had considered walking over it doesn't look that accessible for non-patrons. Though I've seen your photos taken from there.

And could there possibly be a side entrance or exit as well?

Well, I believe that the area where I took the photos was part of the queue for the carousel, but since there was no line I went in, took the photos and left. There was actually other people there just looking around and didn't appear to be waiting in line.

I looked at the plans and it looks like it goes around and behind the "La Casita" restaurant and Safari Outpost store. It does not connect to the building.

Is that pond the false gharial habitat? If not, does anyone know what it is there for? Turtles maybe?

No, that is the "Woodland Pond" and I think it will have native species.
