ZOO Antwerpen - Monkey House (Javan langurs)

An adult and young Javan langur (Trachypithecus auratus auratus) inside the Monkey House in ZOO Antwerpen. A very nice breeding group of this charismatic species lives in this house.

The Monkey House was opened in 1978 replacing an even older building on the same site. The 13 species of primates and 2 species of xenarthra inhabiting the house all have all-indoor exhibits.

Brilliant photo ! Interesting those sculptures on the wall behind the monkeys. Not nitpicking but the art looks more West African / Yoruba in style though than South East Asian / Javanese.
