Thank god that Billy will have at least half of the new exhibit by the end of this year.

Now that the apparently splendid "Elephants of Asia" multi-acre habitat has opened to the public it is interesting to gaze back at what it replaced. What happened to this old enclosure? Was it incorporated into the new elephant area?

Correct, the whole footprint of the former elephant exhibit has been incorporated into the new exhibit, as well as the footprint of the old reptile house.

This particular area would now be the approximate locale of the Elephants of Thailand/demonstration yard.
