Misc exhibits in the 70's

Various exhibits in the 70's kokla opening
Was this exhibit the precursor to the nocturnal house, or is this the night quarters?

Looks nothing like the night quarters know as The Koala Hilton, I helped to lock it up during
my days in the keepers class. Must be some other off exhibit holding area. They received their first Koalas in the early 1980s. I was there for the GLAZA members preview of the Koala House. This is probably part of the old zoo hospital complex. Just a guess.

I think you are right, They brought in the Koalas before the exhibit was done, so it probably was the hospital.

misc. zoo

That was in the education building. From the left, Animal Keeper Scott Ransom is partially hiddenby the tree. Zoo Director Dr. Warren Thomas is in the red shirt. GLAZA president Marcia Hobbs is behind the man holding his arm up and Principle Keeper Bill Foster is the vest wearing guy with glasses.
