It was a great outing and great to find friends with a common interest. Hopefully we can do it again in the near future and get even more of our SoCal Zoochatters to join us.
Let us know when you're out here. They haven't announced any projected opening dates for the rainforest so far. Based on the amount of work to be done I would guess it will probably be late 2013. They are just starting to put up the foundations of the exhibits from what we could see on Sunday.
If you look at the latest progress report, the Rainforest of the Americas is still on schedule and it is projected to be finished at the end of April. Hopefully there won't be any delays, but it is bound to happen.
