I missed the label at first and I was wondering what exactly this was. When I saw that this was the Mountain Zebra exhibit I was shocked! I had forgotten how awful this exhibit was. It looks like a construction site or the site of a land slide, not an exhibit for such a rare animal in zoological collections!
I totally agree, and many of the African hoofstock at Louisville Zoo have substandard exhibits. There is even a tiny paddock that has 1 African elephant and 1 Asian elephant, and it is quite rare to see 2 species of elephant in the same enclosure.
