The exhibit for lions (Panthera leo) in the new Great Plains exhibit in ZOO Antwerpen. Meerkats (Suricata suricatta) and yellow mongooses (Cynictis penicillata) also have access to the lower part of the lion exhibit through a series of tunnels.
The new Great Plains exhibit opened in July 2011 where the camels and yaks were formerly housed. These pictures were taken just a few days before opening.
