Yet another example of a grand entrance area at this zoo, as seeing the huge Komodo dragon statue is pretty cool but the grassy area for the lizards is much smaller and not nearly as innovative as Land of the Dragons at Phoenix Zoo. Memphis has architectural delights all over the zoo, but some of the exhibitry is lacking in quality. It is a good zoo and Teton Trek (grizzlies, wolves, elk, etc) has been added since my 2008 visit, and so I would still rank it in the top 30 zoos on the continent.
