Well i'm glad i checked your date on this photo since i was at Antwerp in about May last year and would have been very annoyed if i'd missed the takin!

However i had just returned from Wuppertal where i was able to get some good shots - however this did involve slipping over the safety barrier which is something i certainly do not advocate but i got rather carried away with seeing one for the first time.

@Sasha, Antwerp still holds takins next to their reptile house, so maybe you still missed them in Antwerp....

The takin moved from the cattle house to a new enclosure in the corner of the zoo, they are still there as far as I know

Yes, unless there's been a recent change they should be mixed with the Himalayan Tahr.

I hope the tahr don't mind...

The tahr don't mind, the only problem was that the male takin didn't tolerate a male himalayan tahr, so they keep a female group of tahr. But now the male takin died, so they have only 0.3 takin left.

But at the moment they are kept behind the scenes because there are some minor renovations done in the enclosure
