Thinking about how much longer his species will be found in European Zoos(and that means any worldwide too).:(

Do you know their current status in zoos, phase out wise? Have their been any recent births to help boost the count of species?

According to Global Species, it's found in only 8 European zoos: Artis, Antwerp, Edinburgh, Mulhouse, Palmyre, Twycross, Valencia and Leipzig.
Zoofreunde mentions Berlin Zoo but not Twycross and Valencia.
I couldn't find any birth for 2010-2011-2012.
Leipzig got most specimen: 3.4 (2011).
Last Antwerp birth was 2001.

Mulhouse is breeding them every second year, sire: last Antwerp offspring, dam: female from Leipzig.

Last breeding at Leipzig and Edinburgh was in 2009. The breeding males in both zoos died 2010.

Twycross no longer hold the species - their last female died in late 2011, and their male was sent to Edinburgh to join their old female and her daughter born in 2009. I believe this younger female is no longer in the collection - but I don't know where she has gone.

A lot of deaths, not good news. And it could be even worse if Artis rumours are correct: according to a visitor the species is no longer on display neither was there an sign.
