When I initially saw the trio of brand-new leopard exhibits at the Minnesota Zoo I thought that the habitats were too small to my liking, but then after touring around many other North American zoos I realized that Minnesota's 3 enclosures (which can be joined at times) are probably the largest leopard facilities in North America. The amount of vertical space is quite impressive in all three habitats.
The entire Russia's Grizzly Coast area of the zoo (grizzly bears, sea otters, wild boars, amur leopards) is absolutely outstanding, and hopefully the Minnesota Zoo wins some kind of AZA exhibit award for the second consecutive year. Even with its cold climate and struggles financially in the past, this is a zoo that has bounced back and I believe that it is one of the best dozen zoos in the United States.
@Otter Lord: I think this photo might be all there is in the ZooChat gallery, which is a pity as the Minnesota Zoo has one of the best leopard exhibits I've ever seen. In fact there are a trio of mesh enclosures in the brilliant new Russia's Grizzly Coast area of the zoo.
