@jackieo: Thanks for posting the pictures of the new penguin exhibit. It looks really nice from the photos. Do you like it? Is it drawing large crowds?
In looking at the zoo website on the development of this project it looks like there is also a meerkat exhibit being built near the penguins?
I think it is great exhibit. MN has a great attendance record. I'm a member of the zoo and they had a special adult's only sneak preview and it was packed. I thought it would be semi-quiet, but the zoo has a high adult member rate.
* I don't know when the meerkat's will be returning. They left in 2008 when they were building the Russia exhibit. The only upgrades scheduled for the next year are a new Black Bear exhibit opening in Fall 2012 and they are upgrading the coral reef in the tropic trail which will reopen in the Spring.
