Usually they keep these type of exhibits for years, as for example their "Jellyfish in Art" gallery is closing down this weekend after 4.5 years. There will be a period of nothing, before a seahorse gallery opens up. The otter gallery must have cost millions as it's beautifully done, but 2 years ago when I was there it contained something like 22 species of shark. So I'm assuming that sadly the otters will be gone in 5 years and will be replaced by something else.
I think this is a good thing for the aquarium as it keeps people coming back, but I think 22 species of sharks would have been great to keep as not that many aquariums have that many sharks.
