Nashville Sept 20-21, 2009

Flew home last night from Nashville - a fantastic photographic experience. (Great enclosures and ideal lighting - soft overcast). Once I get the slides from my SLR cameras developed and scanned, I will post some nice animal portraits. But here is a series of snapshots I took with my pocket digital.

In case you cannot tell what animal is in here - there are a pair of gibbons (a white female in the tree and a black male slightly below her and just to the left).

Is this really an amazing exhibit? It certainly appears to be excellent, and the gibbons are tough to spot in the photo.

Yes, it is amazing. You are actually seeing part of two exhibits - the white tree on the right is on a second island inhabited by siamangs. There is a small stream around the base of the islands, part of which is barely visible near the bottom middle of this photo. The two islands are so close to each other and the stream between them is so overgrown that it looks like one big exhibit.
