I saw 9 Colobus Monkeys and I thought that this was the best exhibit in the zoo. From the viewing ridge there are giraffes on one side and then enormous windows that look into the monkey habitat. I also believe that this is a fairly new addition to the zoo.
My goodness, what I'd give to see the Milwaukee County Zoo renovate their primate exhibits. I live in the area and visit the zoo very often, but, looking through these photos of other zoo's primate enclosures makes me feel kind of bad for the primates at Milwaukee. The gorillas and bonobos have it pretty good, but the colobus monkeys ( my favorite monkeys ) in this photo compared to the one in Milwaukee with no outdoor access? Please.
Photo of colobus monkey exhibit at MCZ. All but the gorillas, bonobos, Diana/DeBrazza monkeys, mandrills, and goeldi monkeys have exhibits very similar to this one: http://www.zoochat.com/583/primate-complex-colobus-monkey-exhibit-172755/
OK, I'm pretty sure the answer is going to be no, but is this (or at least did it used to be) a walkthrough exhibit? I see there's a gate and what looks like a path through the exhibit. Unless that's just a door for the keepers?
And I agree, wild wolverine. Milwaukee's primate exhibits are for the most part disappointing. Only the Japanese macaques and Goeldi's monkeys have a great habitat there.

Has anyone thrown around the idea of a walkthrough monkey exhibit? I know Phoenix has one for squirrel monkeys, and there are a few walkthrough lemur habitats around the country, but it would be interesting to see if it could be done for African monkeys. Maybe they might too aggressive though...

That's true, I hadn't thought of the macaques, their exhibit is very nice.
The idea of a walkthrough African monkey exhibit would be awesome, but I'm not sure if they would be too aggressive.
