A lot better than a lot of Lemur exhibits I've seen, (ex. Louisville) but it certainly looks more appropriate for the mainly terrestrial Patas Monkeys than it does for arboreal lemurs.

It is almost amusing that there were lemur signs all over the place alongside the highway towards the zoo, and big signs inside the zoo saying "new lemur exhibit" and such forth. All the zoo did was shift the patas monkeys out and put in lemurs and that was the big new addition for 2010!:)

Ever since those "Madagascar" movies lemurs have become big crowd drawing animals. I mean on the Cincinnati Zoo's website the description for the Lemur Island exhibit is, " Watch the lemurs "Move it, move it." Which is from one of the songs off of the movies. All of the advertising for the lemurs doesn't suprise me one bit. Personally I'd much rather see Patas Monkeys, but I guess you have to make money some how.

The Jacksonville Zoo did the very same thing but replace the N.A. River Otters with penguins. The exhibit wasn't built for Penguins and the only difference was the mesh over the exhibits, and the replacement of grass for pebbles.I rather see the Mother-Daughter duo come back to the zoo but the Penguins did bring the crowds.
