Black Bear Enclosure - Bear Asleep in Corner

August 2009.
Northwest Trek Wildlife Park seems like an absolutely wonderful place! It is such a joy to watch the pictures from it!

How big appr. are the bear exhibits?

Northwest Trek's 435-acre hoofstock enclosure is a marvel all by itself, as I've visited 3 times and the animals have a choice of dense forest, wide-open plains or a couple of meadows and lakes. The bears are in large habitats, but due to the hidden fencing and vastly overgrown foliage it is difficult to gauge the size of the enclosures. I'd estimate that both the black bears and grizzlies have approximately the same size exhibits, and each on its own would be about an acre in size. All of the enclosures for the large forest animals (bears, wolves, foxes, coyotes, cougars, lynx, bobcats, etc) are set in thick, dense woodland.
