Grizzly Bear Exhibit

April 28th, 2012.
Close to the bottom right-hand corner of the photo is a brown blob that is actually a sleeping grizzly bear. The animal allows the viewer to gain perspective in terms of the size of the exhibit, and I would hazard a guess that the enclosure is about 2 acres in size.

Looks good! :)
What do they use as a barrier to contain the bears? Is it open moated at the front and fenced the rest of the way? I only ask because I can't see any form of containment anywhere.

The front of the grizzly bear, black bear, gray wolf, coyote, red fox, cougar, lynx and bobcat exhibits are all open, with moated fronts protected by hotwire. There is chainlink fencing along the rest of the exhibits, but in some cases the dense forest is so overwhelming that it is difficult to tell where a particular enclosure begins and ends.

Thanks, this "zoo" does look amazing! I used the quote marks because from what I read on here, everyone struggles to class it as a zoo in the typical sense. :)
