We had a friend who was a counselor at a science camp in the redwood forest where they had the kids join the "banana slug club" by kissing a banana slug.
The slugs did try and file a class-action damages lawsuit to stop from being kissed, but they were too slow and they missed the deadline for filing the lawsuit.
Just a small remark, this is not a banana slug, but one of the Arion species. Which one it is, I cannot say, and you would probably need to look at its genitals to be sure....
I'm certainly no authority, but it looks to me like a darker specimen of Ariolimax columbianus, which is native to this area and very prevalent on grounds. The Arion genus, while apparently traveling the world in potted plants, isn't native to this area.

I still think it is an Arion though, if you look at the respiratory hole, this one looks to be placed on the middle or slightly before the middle of the mantle, which fits Arion, where for Ariolimax you would expect it to be placed to the back of the mantle. Other things are the very prominent tubicles and the lack of a keel.
I shall weigh in with my "looking at photos on Google" opinion, and say I would agree it isn't Ariolimax because of the body texture and the lack of a keel.
