Children's Zoo - Sarcosuchus Imperator Fossil

July 17th, 2011.
@snowleopard: Do you see design elements like this in a lot of children's zoo exhibits around the US? I really like their use here. I think enhances the alligator exhibit and teaches some good natural history. It zaps right into my inner three year old.

Off of the top of my head I cannot think of too many fossil replicas, but there are certainly many zoos with fossil "dig sites" (ASDM, Miami, Fresno Chaffee, etc) and those seem to be quite popular but in reality they are glorified sand pits for kids.

But, of course, real fossils are usually dis-articulated into bones and pieces of bone, and are in rock, not sand. :)
