Before the Oakland Zoo's heavy renovation and renaissance in the 1980s, In the spot shown in this photo there used to be a unique cage shaped somewhat like Seattle's Space needle, with a ramp around it. It was designed for a bunch of gibbons, but in the 1970's it held a mixed group of Spider Monkeys (Colombian Brown and two subspecies of Geoffreys) and two gibbons. One gibbon was a dark Lar and the other was thought to be a Hoolock in the 1970's, but later they found out that it was really an Agile.
