Now that it has been announced that Woodland Park Zoo's two females will be moving to Oklahoma City Zoo in the next couple of months, the exhibit in this photo (almost 4 acres of space for the elephants in a 9.5 acre complex) will soon be home to 7 elephants. Warm summers will be greeting the elephants from Seattle, although the winters are slightly colder in Oklahoma (in terms of snowfall) and as I type this the zoo is closed due to weather conditions.

I'm very glad the Woodland Park elephants aren't going to a sanctuary, and this exhibit does sound like it will be an improvement. I'm rather concerned about ratio of elephant space to "other" space in this complex though, tell me there aren't 5.5 acres for visitors?
