Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo - Exploration Station

July 2008. Beautifully laid-out building with all sorts of children's activities, as well as lots of exhibits for small reptiles, invertebrates, amphibians and mammals.

There are the usual insects, fish, reptiles and amphibians in the large building, but for mammals they had things like a sugar glider, opossum, rabbits, a ferret and a hedgehog. The mammal section is quite small, and I think that probably all of them are used in keeper demonstrations. Overall I thought that the building was a terrific place for kids to interact with smaller animals.
