@yangz: The picture was taken when the spider monkeys were still outside. And winter season is a pretty long time in Nebraska... @sooty mangabey: Thanks.
@Miniaturezoo954: Sorry to disappoint you, but you're wrong: a) no agenda, b) no double standards from my side of the road. I'm actually quite a fan of the USA and happy that I can call quite a bunch of its inhabitants my friends (and even relatives). Due to that, I got my share of flak when standing in against all too aggressive Anti-Americanism (which still popular among Europeans). However, having had my share of experiences, I know that also in America, not all that glitters is gold, including zoos. Addressing these problems objectively might be better for all involved than ignoring and even trivilizing them (as some zoochat members tend to do).
About the posts above: as you can see, zooman edited some of his previous comments. His wording (to whom my posts refer to) was a "little" bit different back then.
I don't mind your direct approach, @Miniaturezoo954, even though I tend to, naturally, disagree on behalf of the alleged age, rudeness and "jerk" factor. A PM might have been the smarter move, though. However, it's better than the back-stabbing badgering some people rely on...
@Animal: Frankly, there wasn't much more to this particular exhibit than shown on the pic. Nevertheless, I agree (as stated before) that a single picture is most often not enough to base a critique on.
And about the "stress" aspect: it appears that some people also just like to cause stress by misinterpreting others-inclusive other forums...
Ok lets just all take a deep breath in and calm down. Now, Sun Wukong makes some good points although I see some of them very negative. Still, he is entitled to his own opinion as are the reast of us. If you want to see a real pessimist, check out reduakari.
