Is that the same exhibit that used to house pumas? Seems like ocelots fit a little better size wise.

When was the mesh placed in this exhibit? Restraing the ocelot.

There were pumas in there last summer, but I am overjoyed to see an ocelot above the peccaries. I commented in my extensive review of the Henry Doorly Zoo that the cat exhibits in the Desert Dome (bobcat, puma, serval) were all too small for the occupants. Replacing pumas with ocelots, regardless of the reason, is an excellent move.

@zooman: hasn't there always been mesh in the cat enclosure?

There is a mesh that looks like this actually it could be this.

It is poppong up everywhere. It is just interesting to see it being used more and more. It has been used at SDZ new exhibits as well l think.

It is at least an improvement; the pumas appeared to be not all too happy with this exhibit...

I don't think the peccaries were overjoyed with the puma's either!

One of many changes that will begin to be noticed as the zoo finally enters into the 21st century with a new leader.

I took this photo last week, so it is recent! There were 6 peccaries in their enclosure, and 1 ocelot above.
