Spider and squirrel monkeys can both be found here, and they battle it out with the thousands of koi fish that surround them in the water. All of the animals compete for handouts tossed by zoo visitors, as there are feeding machines located on the bridge.

I have to ask--is this a good thing? I found the spectacle mesmerizing but a little disturbing. And not just because of the illogical zoogeography.

It's probably not the best setup, particularly due to the fact that the larger spider monkeys might shoulder aside the smaller squirrel monkeys and spend hours sitting and waiting for handouts from the public.
