Desert Dome

This is above the peccary's, I guess they used to have a mountain lion in here, which is not ideal at all.

I understand now; I was at the HDZ just last week for almost two days, passed through the Desert Dome many times and could never see a Puma in the exhibit despite the exhibit still being marked as for Pumas and Peccaries.

Ocelots, by the way, are almost impossible to see from the pathway as the Peccary exhibit is between. It is easier to see the Servals above the Meerkat exhibit as their exhibit is next to the pathway.

When I visited on Sunday (October 3) I noticed that there was a sign for the ocelot. I remembered some discussion on ZooChat about that before, so I looked and saw ocelot and collared peccary signs next to each other.

And yes, its a bad exhibit. For large cat, it to cramped, but for small cats the viewing is terrible. But the serval and bobcat exhibits were too small as well.
