That's right, including one that is missing an arm. But in this tiny cage there 2-3 more of them...maybe the backup monkeys for the Lied Jungle? The zoo also has squirrel monkeys in an indoor Amazon exhibit as well as on an island with spider monkeys...and 4 species of penguins in 3 different enclosures.
I'm not sure if these wire cages are still in existence, as I had heard that they were demolished. Can anyone confirm that? Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo has been making some fantastic changes in recent years (updated aquarium, entrance, many visitor amenities) and some subtle ones as well (Ocelot replacing Puma in Desert Dome, Indian Porcupines replacing Clouded Leopards in Lied Jungle, and Malayan Tapirs being phased out of Lied Jungle) and the future will mean the demise of the Cat Complex and Bear Canyon. Those are arguably the only two major parts of the huge zoo that are extremely outdated, as everything else is for the most part top-notch.
@jusko88: It seems that the old Malayan Tapir exhibit in Lied Jungle (the first enclosure that visitors generally see) will only contain primates, which was long overdue!
@DAVID: you are correct about the Desert Dome, as it has some staggering human elements but probably half of the exhibits are far too small. It is nowhere near as impressive as either Lied Jungle or Kingdoms of the Night, which are gargantuan complexes amongst the largest of their kind. Those two have some flaws, but nowhere near as many as Desert Dome. Then you add in a world-class aquarium, a world-class insect building, the 6-7 decent exhibits featuring orangutans and gorillas, the 100+ reptile exhibits, etc, and even some detrators label the facility as a lock for one of America's 10 best. I'll convince you one day my friend.

Those wire cages were there this past July when I was there. The animals I mentioned in my previous comment were the ones on display. I hadn't heard that the Malayan tapirs were being phased out. That is good. I will be happy when the bear Canyon and Cat Complex are gone. I won't be happy if all of those hoofstock paddocks go away. Those are top-notch IMHO. Very spacious. I do agree that the Desert Dome needs some work.
