Oregon Zoo - Sun Bear Exhibit

August 2008. Brutally ancient enclosure that is a concrete, volcano-like structure surrounded by a deep moat with iron bars at the bottom. The two sun bears spend their time climbing over the cardboard boxes, tree trunks and assorted mess that makes up their space.

I think this exhibit is actually fairly nice due to the climbing space.I mean,sure...Columbus sun bears have a larger ground area but there enclosure just looks far to fake

The Columbus Zoo indoor exhibit for sun bears is indeed fake and rather bizarre, but the outdoor enclosure is massive and extremely naturalistic. The outdoor habitat in Columbus is probably one of the best for sun bears in North America.
