August 2008. There is a glass viewing window where the people are gathered, and the cougars often sit on the rocky ledge above the heads of the zoo visitors. There is another viewing area farther along the habitat.

August 2008. There is a glass viewing window where the people are gathered, and the cougars often sit on the rocky ledge above the heads of the zoo visitors. There is another viewing area farther along the habitat.
 
This mesh exhibit is only a couple of years old, and is one of the better cougar habitats in North America. The glass viewing windows allow visitors to get quite close to the big cats.

Mesh is 22 feet high.
Poles are sent 15 feet into the ground.
