This exhibit just opened a couple of years ago, and the photo shows less than half the area available for black bears. However, all 3 of the elderly bears have since died, leaving this $2 million enclosure empty and awaiting another trio of American black bears. This exhibit is part of the "Great Northwest" section of the Oregon Zoo, which is without a doubt the newest and best exhibit complex at the zoo.
