Snowleopard, don't you find this exhibit rather small for exhibiting Mongooses and Hornbills? I think it's on the small side for two species and the small dome even takes way more space. The idea of such a dome is great but does it really add something to the overall experience, since you can watch the animals from up close already through the regular windows?
I like the idea of the dome as it is a HUGE hit with children. I visit the Vancouver Aquarium almost once a month and the 2-3 domes in the frog/fish exhibits there always have a lineup to enter them, and my young daughter has to wait her turn. If visitors can get that excited just to stick their head into a plastic dome then that is a positive thing. This mongoose/hornbill habitat is too small for my liking, and the best enclosures in the Predators of the Serengeti are the large lion, cheetah, caracal and African wild dog yards.
