How long is this giant snake of theirs? It wouldn't happen to be 'the longest snake in captivity', would it? I have heard this claim to fame so often that my skepticism became almost overbearing when Columbus Zoo introduced 'Fluffy' (but I know it is dead now, and incidentally succeeded by 'her daughter' - good job Columbus Zoo PR)
Second is that almost every crocodile farm and/or park seems to hold 'the largest crocodile in the world'. It wouldn't surprise me if every single such place in Thailand maintained that for instance. Basically it is the same as the oldest person in the world; at any given time there may be dozens or hundreds making that claim from all over the world, although they have oddly often in common that the birth certificate is long since lost or was never issued in the first place!

Would be Marineland Melanesia, on Green Island, just off Cairns; been there, seen the thing, large he is, but largest or not is hard to say for me. The exhibit it is kept in doesn't allow for measuring, really.
The founder is a former crocodile hunter who used to have a record holder registered in the Guiness Book of Records, called 'Oscar' (dead for years now, his skin is mounted at the place) but I don't think 'Cassius' is in the book, even if the owner claims him to be a little longer than 'Oscar' was.
Well, they never claim to have the biggest, but perhaps the word "giant" is overused. They just call it that because they bring out some type of full grown python, though certainly not the biggest.
