I'm confused. Are there separate aviaries or one big birdroom? Or are the photo taken through an aviary viewing a visitor path and a row of glass aviaries?
the photo is kind of confusing for me as well. There is glass between the visitor path at right and the birds, yes? (The joins between the panels are evident, there is a sign on the glass at the far end, and a camera flash reflection).
But all the section behind the glass does indeed look as if it used to be a series of individual aviaries. Or was it just designed to look like an overgrown temple, or something along those lines?
It's 1 L-shaped aviary. The sides of the aviary you see best by following the white wooden pannel above (glass under, wire mesh above). The stone path is the visitors path with some optical illusions.
The section at the end (right on the picture) was 3 years ago a separate aviary with mainly american songbirds (cardinals, buntings, etc.).
