That is a very interesting barrier betyween the animal and public.

At the top of the perspex slanting in, is that hot wire?

I am assuming that the perspex is not super thick for $$ reasons, are white handed gibbons know for violent outbursts against viewing windows as apes often do?

I know this is an old question but I thought I would recount a tale of "gibbon abuse".
As a youngster I visited Twycross zoo with my grandparents and towards the end of the day we were in the gibbon house, I pulled out a bag of crisps as I was hungry. The lar gibbon on the other side of the glass reacted quite badly to my pack of Hula Hoops and proceeded to repeatedly swing itself at the glass at full force. Me being 7 or 8, was absolutely terrified and ran from the house. So did the gibbon, who continued to try and get to me from behind the mesh, even climbing to the top of the cage to watch me walk away.

It was about 3 visits later that I even dared to go to that end of the house again. I've never eaten anything in front of a primate since that day.
In summary, white-handed gibbons are definitely prone to glass bashing, even if unprovoked. They are very touchy animals!
