Phoenix Zoo - Forest of Uco

August 2008. A facade of a South American town, complete with music and radio announcements on hidden speakers.

Great theming. Is there any exhibits in this area?

Spectacled bear, capybara (which might be in the process of renovation), alligator, python, some birds, etc. This zoo is in the top ten North American zoos for South American animals, as there is a large collection of creatures from that continent.

Can't wait till the LA zoo opens their Rainforest of the Americas.

There is one little cage that had an sign on it saying that the animal was no longer there, but basically this town is for theming purposes only.

The town just lines the main walkway near the entrance to the Forest of Uco trail where the above mentioned animals are exhibited. The empty exhibit just "outside of town" on the main path used to hold green aracari, but currently sits empty.
