I bet that the one in Phoenix is far more spacious and naturalistic. London Zoo is puny...

Snowleopard, to be fair, London has done really well on it's monkey exhibit and just because the zoo is small doesn't mean that it isn't naturalistic...

You are right Jimmy, and there are several exhibits (such as the Clore Rainforest) that I really like the look of. London Zoo has come a long way from the cramped cages that it used to have many years ago. Having said that, the squirrel monkey exhibit at the Phoenix Zoo is huge and totally spectacular. It is amazing to think that it is the only walk-through monkey enclosure in North America.

Yeah, since London has dispersed it's large animal collection, they have been able to focus on changing the face of the zoo. Things like the Clore, B.U.G.S., Meet the Monkeys, (a developing) Gorilla Kingdom, Into Africa, Outback and the bird house have all been modernised in recent years. Soon the children's zoo and the admittedly outdated cat terraces will be redeveloped, so the future is looking good for London.

Back onto the photo topic;)

I'm quite surprised that it's the only walk through in North America. I thought that this 'gimmick' would be very popular across the pond. Do you think that there is any particular reason for this?

One concern is that it requires at least one or two employees to stay inside the exhibit and monitor crowds, and that isn't very cost effective. Secondly, there is always the problem with unruly idiots doing something bad to the primates.
