I agree with you, as this is an atrocious great ape enclosure. But there is a bright spot on the horizon, as the orangutans are receiving a $5 million, brand-new exhibit in the next year or so.
It will be interesting to see this new exhibit. My understanding of the reason the orangutans have never been on grass and dirt before is the concern with them contracting Valley fever. I wonder what has changed their minds.
