Childrens Trail - Ocelot Exhibit

They used to have ocelots in a much nicer exhibit (larger and lusher) in the tropics trail. I think that exhibit now has lemurs, who have eaten all the foliage and basically destroyed the exhibit.

The exhibit of which you speak, Arizona Docent has now been raized to build the new Orangutan complex. Another interesting historical tidbit, the old ocelot exhibit was moved from the Africa trail near the lion exhibit where it housed black leopards.

I didn't know they were going to demolish it - I guess I didn't notice it on my last visit. When I visited Arizona a year before I moved here, I actually did see it in the old location with the two black leopards.

On a similar historical note, the current mandrill exhibit at Reid Park Zoo used to be a black leopard exhibit (before I lived here, so I never saw it). The leopard apparently used to live in a glass case in a local bar and was donated to the zoo.
