I had to go up to Tempe/Phoenix this afternoon (Saturday) to buy a carbon fiber tripod for my Europe trip at a big camera store there. It is near the Phoenix Zoo, so I went there afterwards, arriving at 3:30 in the afternoon at well over 100 degrees Farenheit. I thought it would be a bust, but the bobcat (which is never out) and pumas were very active due to feeding time. Got some great shots with no one left at the zoo due to the heat. Glad to report my expensive new Manfrotto Carbon Fiber tripod performed flawlessly as well.
