This an the golden lion tamarin exhibit are new additions to Uco (most likely reuse of old off-exhibit cages displaced by the orangutan construction). Where exactly along the trail is this one located?
The tamarin and parrot cages are actually labelled on the map that I uploaded today, and one of my complaints of Phoenix Zoo is that there are far too many metal cages across various sections of the park. The Children's Trail has many cages, Tropical Flights and the Tropics Trail have a series of aesthetically unappealing aviaries, and the South American zone also has a number of functional yet ugly metal cages as well. Some major American zoos have almost zero cages and yet Phoenix has a whole slew of them scattered throughout the establishment.
Invisinet would be a huge improvement, but the size of many of the exhibits is also an issue. Phoenix has chosen functionality over aesthetics for even some of the popular mammal exhibits (gibbon islands with basic climbing frames, elephants, jaguar, ocelot, caracal, lion, tiger, etc) and even the brand-new orangutan habitat is not trend-setting whatsoever.
