According to the Phoenix Zoo's facebook page, one of the yards in Land of the Dragons is now home to a Chinese Alligator. This is the first time in about a decade that crocodilians of any sort have been on display at the zoo.

What happened to the American alligator pond that they used to have? Did that get built over by another exhibit?

The former American Alligator pond is currently the Wetlands exhibit, featuring red brocket, pelicans, sandhill cranes, and crested screamer.

No, but Ivan has reduced mobility and can no longer make the long hike to the second yard.

As of my visit last Saturday night, the far left yard (I think the one pictured here) has a sign saying it is empty. The far right yard had no sign but was also empty with the dragon in the night house (which has glass windows that are virtually useless - even at night there was too much glare to see in).
