Pittsburgh Zoo - Grizzly bear grotto

July 2008. Brutal concrete jail for an old grizzly, and all this cage needs is some prison bars. It's very small and completely fake.

EW!Is that mould growing all over the rocks?

The Pittsburgh Zoo bear grottoes might be the worst that I've ever seen, and unfortunately I've seen a lot of ugly bear pits in my time. It could well be mould growing in there, as the entire enclosure just comes across as disgusting and old.

The Bears were actually taken care of but the grottos are gone now
