Asian Forest Sanctuary - Signage

August 2009. Sumatran tigers, white-cheeked gibbons, siamangs, lowland anoas, small-clawed otters, malayan tapirs and crested porcupines rotate through a series of 5 exhibits. There are some mixed-species habitats, and zoo visitors never truly know what animal will be in each exhibit whenever they pass through the Asian Forest Sanctuary.

The porcupines and two species of gibbon are never showcased in the largest habitat, which is called the Waterfall Panorama. I've seen lowland anoa in this exhibit, but I've heard from other ZooChatters that the sumatran tigers are most commonly found in the largest and most picturesque Asian enclosure. It's really cool to see visitors trying to figure out what animal is in the exhibit (now they have to read the signs!!) and it's also great for the animals to move around and experience new habitats.
