Asian Forest Sanctuary - Waterfall Panorama

August 2009. Sumatran tigers, white-cheeked gibbons, siamangs, lowland anoas, small-clawed otters, malayan tapirs and crested porcupines rotate through a series of 5 exhibits. There are some mixed-species habitats, and zoo visitors never truly know what animal will be in each exhibit whenever they pass through the Asian Forest Sanctuary.

Without a doubt the best exhibit in this section of the zoo, and on its own an impressive sumatran tiger habitat. The forest is quite dense at the back of the enclosure, and the pool is enormous. Twice I've seen the tigers in this exhibit, while on one visit the lowland anoas were inside.

Full credit to PDZ for these exhibits, but I'll need you to explain to me if the species you mention above actually all rotate through all the exhibits? If we only look at this one, I can imagine it to be suitable for the tigers and the otters for instance, but certainly not the gibbons or the siamangs! You'll see why, no climbing structures, unless the exhibit is much bigger than can be seen here.

On 5 out of 6 visits ever to this zoo the Sumatran tigers have always been in this particular exhibit, which is the centrepiece to the Asian Sanctuary zone. However, once I saw lowland anoa in there, and the small-clawed otters and malayan tapir have reportedly been rotated through this exhibit. Not every animal can rotate through every exhibit, and there are always mixed-species enclosures each day.
