Rather than be demolished this 1963 structure might become a South American rainforest complex in the future. The plan is to combine a new Pacific Rim Aquarium with the cold-weather area (Arctic Tundra/Rocky Shores) to form a brand-new zone along the southern-most portion of the zoo's borders. All the zoo needs is anywhere from $30-40 million dollars!
